Of late we have been associated with TP Marine in Holland who have produced GRP RIB’s for quite some time. They are branching out into the realm of alloy hulls and commissioned us to modify our standard 30’ QRV RIB to increase the range on offer.
Principal among the changes and improvements has been an increase in the hull deadrise from 18° to 21°, hence the term D/D in the title. In addition there are now three powering/propulsion options as follows:
Twin 250 Hp Gasoline Outboards
Inboard Volvo D6 425 Hp driving Hamilton HJ274 Waterjet.
Inboard Volvo Penta Aquamatic D6 350 with DPH Duoprop Drive
We have also fine tuned the method of attaching the Hypalon collar so as to make it detachable for inspection and maintenance. Other minor options and/or additions include a high capacity towing A-Frame and also an aft bulkhead with watertight door to render the pilothouse weathertight and to improve sound dampening.
In actual fact, the first of these RIB’s to be built in Holland will be for private use with no emphasis placed on it’s rescue capabilities. In place of the bolster supports for 4 standing crew members we are planning to install twin shock-mitigating helm seats, with a vestigial galley facilities and also a marine head in the forward cabin.
